Hi, I’m Carson! I currently work as an after-school tutor with students in grades 2–7, helping with math, reading, writing, and homework. I previously studied secondary mathematics education before pursuing nursing, and teaching has remained a big part of my life. I especially enjoy working with students over time and seeing something that used to frustrate them become something they can handle confidently.

My sessions are conversational and hands-on. In math, I ask students to show me their thinking so we can figure out where things stopped making sense, whether we’re working on fractions, long division, word problems, or prealgebra. In English, we talk through what we’re reading and work on turning ideas into clear, organized writing. I’m outgoing and bring humor into lessons, and I want students to feel comfortable saying, “Wait, I don’t understand that.”
I’m also completing my BSN at Grand Canyon University, with a 3.92 GPA and expected graduation in December 2026. I help nursing students work through course concepts, pharmacology, pathophysiology, dosage calculations, and practice questions. I enjoy connecting the science to what a nurse would assess and do next, and helping students explain why an answer makes sense.
Music is another longtime part of my life. I’ve played piano since age four, had six years of professional instruction, and performed in a worship band for several years. I also play guitar and clarinet and write my own music. In piano lessons, I work with beginner and intermediate students on reading music, technique, and expression while making room for songs they actually want to play.
