Hi, I’m Kyla. I’m currently a biomedical engineering student at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Prior to moving to Arizona, I worked at Mathnasium for a year in which I tutored all ages k-12 in math. I developed skills that allowed me to switch up my teaching style incredible easily depending on student abilities and understanding as well as utilizing physical models to explain concepts. After my mathnasium experience, I moved to my own tutoring business. I tutored multiple elementary students, primarily in math, but in English as well, who had previously struggled in their classes due to ADHD. Through hard work, I was able to help them achieve better grades.
In addition to my tutoring experience, I have also worked at a school for a year and a half in an after school care program. This has helped me to develop the ability to engage different aged children based on their grade level.
I have received my high school diploma from Heritage High School in Colorado with 7 AP courses (eng lit, eng lang, seminar, physics 1, precalc, calc BC, psychology) with a 5 on every exam and 6 CE courses (Spanish 1-4, calculus 3, differential equations). I am particularly fluent in math and science but I also enjoy English and entry level Spanish.
