Hi! My name is Tara, and I am a fourth-year medical student with a strong academic foundation in the sciences and mathematics! I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Physiology and went on to complete my Master’s in Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA, where I worked as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate life sciences course. Teaching quickly became my favorite part of graduate school, as I loved breaking down complex topics and helping students truly understand the material. During this time, I also tutored students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting them through the transition to online learning and helping bridge gaps in understanding.
My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while encouraging critical thinking and independence. I tailor each session to the individual student—whether that means reviewing foundational concepts, working through practice problems together, or developing effective study strategies. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them feel more confident in their abilities.
In addition to my academic experience, I bring strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability to every session. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and growing from them. I am always happy to collaborate with students and parents to best support each student’s goals.
I look forward to helping you succeed! :)
