I am a certified secondary education (grades 6-12) teacher, serving over 8 years at the Junior High level with an ESL endorsement and a Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. I received my Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University's Teachers College in 2019 and am currently enrolled for my Master's of Instructional Design and Technology. I have experience teaching Social Studies, Health & Nutrition, and most recently, College & Career Readiness as an AVID teacher.

My primary focus for middle grades students to is to develop fundamental skills such as strategic organization, time management, and long-term processing strategies. Once foundations are built, I am able to address a variety of content areas, including reading and vocabulary, writing and note taking, math concepts and reasoning, college and career exploration, and more through personalized and individually tailored lessons. Skills are assessed based on mastery, feedback, and reflection, and all instructional decisions are made based on documented data results and observations.
As a tutor, I like to have my students take control of their learning paths by offering blended learning models, utilizing resources and tools, and including scenario-based learning opportunities. Goals will be made prior to starting instruction and we will work together as a team to monitor and adjust our outcomes based on progress.
