Hi! I am a certified high school math teacher with several years of classroom experience teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, as well as supporting students with a wide range of ability levels. In my classroom, I regularly work with students who come in feeling unsure of their math skills, and I have developed strategies to help them build both confidence and understanding over time.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students truly understand the “why” behind the math rather than simply memorizing steps. I break concepts down into clear, manageable pieces and check for understanding throughout the session so students feel confident moving forward. I also encourage students to explain their thinking, which helps deepen their understanding and makes the learning stick.

I have extensive experience supporting students who struggle with test anxiety, need step-by-step guidance, or have gaps in foundational skills. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. Each session is tailored to the individual student, whether they need help with homework, test preparation, or strengthening core math skills.

As a full-time teacher, I am familiar with curriculum expectations and know how to help students succeed not only during tutoring sessions but also in their regular math classes. I strive to give students tools and strategies they can use independently so they can continue to grow in confidence and ability.
