My name is Ann J, and my academic journey in psychology has been guided by both intellectual curiosity and a deep appreciation for human experience. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Chico, followed by a Master of Arts in Psychology from Sofia University, where I also obtained a certification in Creativity and Innovation. In 2025, I completed my PhD in Psychology with a concentration in Dream Studies, an area that reflects my interest in consciousness, meaning-making, and the deeper layers of the human mind.

During my graduate training, I had the opportunity to lead a 10-week workshop as part of my practicum, working with parents and therapists to better understand the neurological aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder. I focused on sensory processing differences, including hyper- and hypo-sensitivity, while introducing creative and mindfulness-based strategies to foster empathy and practical support. This experience strengthened my ability to translate complex psychological and neuroscientific concepts into clear, meaningful, and applicable insights.

I currently serve as an adjunct instructor at Sofia University, where I teach undergraduate psychology courses. In both the classroom and tutoring settings, I aim to make psychology engaging, relevant, and easy to grasp. My teaching style emphasizes clarity, connection, and critical thinking, helping students not only understand theories but also apply them in real-world contexts.
