Patient High School Math Tutor – Algebra & Geometry

Lauren B.

I believe that every student can succeed in math with the right guidance, patience, and support. Many students struggle with math not because they are incapable, but because the material was explained too quickly or in a way that didn’t match how they learn. My goal as a tutor is to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges at their own pace.

I specialize in helping high school students with Algebra and Geometry. These subjects often build step by step, so when one concept feels confusing it can make everything that follows much harder. During tutoring sessions I focus on breaking problems down into clear, manageable steps so students can see how each part fits together. I also encourage students to explain their thinking so we can strengthen their understanding and build real confidence in their abilities.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and encouraging. I understand that many students feel anxious about math, and I work to help them feel more comfortable and capable with the material. Whether a student needs help preparing for a test, completing homework, or strengthening their overall understanding, I aim to make each session productive, positive, and focused on helping them succeed.
