Hello!
I am a certified elementary teacher with classroom experience supporting students in kindergarten through third grade, with a strong focus on reading and foundational math skills. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K–8) and am currently completing my master’s degree in Educational Administration. Over the years, I have worked closely with struggling and developing readers in small groups, intervention settings, and whole-class instruction. I specialize in phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and building confidence in students who may feel frustrated or behind. I also have experience supporting English learners and students who benefit from additional structure and encouragement. My background in the classroom has given me a strong understanding of grade-level standards, common learning gaps, and how to help students make steady, measurable progress.
My tutoring approach is structured, patient, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and capable. During sessions, I break skills into manageable steps, model strategies clearly, and provide immediate, supportive feedback so students can see their growth in real time. I intentionally celebrate small wins to build both skill and confidence. I also prioritize clear communication with parents so we can work as a team to set goals, monitor progress, and adjust instruction as needed. My goal is not only to strengthen reading or math skills, but to help students develop independence and a positive attitude toward learning that lasts far beyond our sessions together.
