I'm Daniel, a current USMD MS4 applying for plastic surgery residency. I know how overwhelming STEP1/2 may seem and I am here to make it easier for you. I scored 75+ percentile on all my NBME shelves with multiple in the 90+ and 265+ on STEP 2CK. I received my BS with honors in biomedical engineering from a top-10 program. I worked as a TA for upper-level engineering courses. As a result, I feel that I am very capable in breaking down difficult topics into more digestible information.

Due to my engineering background, I believe in understanding vs pure memorization. In relation to USMLE, this means going into the underlying pathophysiology behind the question instead of memorization, allowing for widespread application when taking the real exam. For instance, instead of telling you to memorize that a certain disease is associated w/ x, y, and z conditions, I will also go into detail about those. I talk about differentials when seeing a type of patient presentation and ways to differentiate between common differentials based on clues. Lastly, I am also a strong believer in active learning. I love talking about medicine and thus, love to constantly ask associated questions when teaching to ensure true understanding.

For STEP2, I have helped students see scores increase of 30+ from the initial CCSE. Whether you need help with question dissection, NBME-style reasoning, or building a study schedule, I can guide you through the process. I am extremely flexible as to my tutoring style and can adapt to meet your needs.

For debate, I have over 7 years of experience, mostly in public forum having competed nationally for 4 years and coached for an additional 3+ years. I won multiple national tournaments and the teams I coached have as well. I can assist with research, drills, learning how to be a better speaker, developing confidence, or anything else you need help with!
