Hello!

My name is Joel Clegg, and I’m a recent Master’s graduate from Northern Arizona University with a specialization in novel wound care strategies. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Northern Arizona University (2022), giving me a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and genetics—fields I am truly passionate about and love teaching.

Throughout my graduate studies, I gained hands-on teaching experience as an instructor for anatomy and physiology lab courses, where I worked closely with sophomore students. My approach blends interactive presentations, hands-on activities with anatomical models, and the use of instruments to gather real-time physiological data, fostering an engaging learning environment that resonates with students at various levels of experience. Additionally, I’ve taught high school chemistry (11th grade) as well as integrated biology to 8th and 9th graders, which taught me the importance of adapting content to different age groups and knowledge levels.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve taught swim lessons to children ages 3-15, which helped me understand diverse learning styles and develop patient, adaptive teaching methods. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex topics and developing confidence in their abilities. I’m excited to bring my background in science education to a one-on-one setting, where I can tailor my tutoring to each student’s individual needs and goals.
