Hi, I'm Mike! I have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics. I have been working as an engineer in the medical device industry for over six years. I have two years of experience in tutoring fellow university students in math and physics. I have also tutored students in middle school and high school throughout my life, so I do have some experience with younger learners as well!

As part of my degree, I have completed courses covering several topics in math, including differential, integral, and multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and statistics, as well as topics in physics, including mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetism. I finished my Master's degree with a 3.8 GPA and loved learning everything I possibly could. I would love to help other students with stressful courses and find the joy that I did in learning these topics.

During college, I learned the value of having the ability to teach others. I held frequent study groups with my peers and would find myself at the whiteboard giving them a lesson on the current topic from one of our courses. Not only was it rewarding to be able to help someone gain an understanding of the material, it also reinforced my own understanding as well. I believe that if you can teach something (correctly), you have mastered the subject. I try to bring that belief and my past experiences tutoring others to my students to help them gain a comprehensive understanding of the material. I like to let the students think and work through the problems themselves as much as possible while guiding them in the right direction and providing helpful tools to solve the problems consistently and effectively. My goal for tutoring my students is to have them teaching me by the end of the lesson.

I am always looking to improve myself as a tutor to better help my students, so I welcome any suggestions and resources students or parents can share! Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with any questions or comments you have!
