Hi, my name is Julie and I am an Educational Sign Language Interpreter.
I have 20 years of experience in this field and have worked in a variety of Schools along with some freelance Interpreting. I have earned a Degree in Communications at ASU and an Associates degree in the Interpreting program at Phoenix College. I hold a Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
Working in the education field has exposed me to a variety of students and learning styles, I have carried that knowledge in my Interpreting skills and being able to adapt to the student's learning style. Working with varied students has helped me to understand how important it is to utilize patience and compassion for the success of the student's education.
I have volunteered my time to teach Sign to a small group of 5-6 individuals for an 8 week course and another group for a 12 week session. I have also tutored one on one for a student to better advance their sign language vocabulary.
My goal is to make sure the student feels confident to learn a visual language and have fun while learning.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and to schedule a lesson.
