I am currently a second-year doctoral student with Northern Arizona University who loves nothing more than helping others succeed. I am currently a second-year doctoral student with Northern Arizona University who loves nothing more than helping others succeed. I have been a straight-A student my whole life, but this achievement did not come easily to me. I made school my job and spent long hours studying and reviewing material ad nauseam. I was hesitant to seek tutoring because I thought asking for help made me weak— little did I know at the time, but asking for help is truly a great strength. It wasn't until high school Calculus that I finally sought tutoring and discovered how much easier it made my life; I no longer spent miserable hours alone agonizing over how to integrate equations— instead, I asked for help and grasped concepts twice as fast as before, saving me time, effort, and unnecessary headaches. I hope to do the same for the students I tutor.

Although I do not have a teaching or tutoring certification, I have mentored students and provided countless hours of assistance in algebra and trigonometry, grammar, theatre, Latin, French, analytical essay writing, creative writing, and research essays. Since 2018, I have worked with middle school students to graduate students and everyone in between, and I am proud to say that everyone I have assisted has either improved by a full letter grade or has maintained top marks in their subject. I helped my students attain these achievements by tailoring my approach to their unique learning style and needs in one-on-one sessions, asking them guiding questions to help them arrive at the answers themselves, and providing clear feedback on assignments.

My goal in tutoring is to help my students rediscover the joy of learning and gain confidence and a sense of empowerment as they tackle difficult assignments. I hope to help my students develop their critical thinking and analytical skills, improve their written and oral communication, and flourish both inside and outside the classroom. I am a classically trained actor with over 10 years of experience in theatre. I specialize in and have an affinity for Shakespeare, although my repertoire ranges from Macbeth to The Mousetrap and everything in between. I excel in character and textual analysis, physicality/movement, and stage combat. Although I do not have a degree or certifications in theatre, I completed 5 years of classical acting training, 2 years of movement and stage combat training, and I received the Shakespeare Award in 2020 for my excellence in and commitment to theatre.

I graduated from ASU in 2023 with my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and I am currently in my final year of NAU's Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I am well-versed in the anatomy and physiology of the human body, with an emphasis on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Although I used to have a profound fear of public speaking and being perceived, I used my experience in theatre to build my confidence during in-person talks, and I have since begun a YouTube channel dedicated to critical media analysis. I approach public speaking from an acting perspective, using my theatre background to craft the "character" I want to embody to give me the poise and confidence to address a crowd and deliver my message clearly. Although I do not have a degree or certifications in communications or other public speaking-related subjects, I am studying and training for a client-facing job that requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and I have received top marks throughout my education in these areas; I also recently presented a Grand Rounds case study at a professional conference in my field of study and received top marks and high praise from both professors and conference attendees.
