University & K-12 Spanish instructor| Native Speaker | Ed.D. Student

Milagros H.

As a native Spanish speaker I fell in love with the language (Spanish) while working on my first B.A. in Translation and Interpreting in a Peruvian University; my mayor was English and my minor German. I started tutoring (in English) while in college.

My education continued in the United States when I moved to NY in 2004. I started my education when I took a class of English history in a Community College. Then, I transferred some credits from my Peruvian college to Empire State College and with that and some more credits I obtained an Associate in Arts in Spanish. After my A.A. came my B.A., with many more credits, in Culture and Languages from the same College.

Also, I obtained a Master Degree in Second Language Acquisition in Spanish from Kansas State University where I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. I was in charge of being the Spanish Instructor. Then, in Seoul, South Korea, I was honored to work with 2 Peruvian Attachés as a translator and interpreter (Spanish-English/English-Spanish).

I am currently working full-time in a Charter school in Gilbert as a Spanish teacher where I teach students from grades seventh to twelfth. Early this year (April, 2018) I obtained my Master in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University (GCU). Moreover, I am also certified teacher. Then, do you want to finally get it in Spanish? Get a better grade in the Spanish class? Travel? Sing like Shakira when she used to sing in Spanish? Being the star for those Karaoke nights? Learning for real? Well, book an appointment with me and make it happen.
