I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, where I worked as a clinician, trainer, and center director.
I specialize in reading, working with students who struggle with decoding, fluency, or comprehension, as well as students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, using structured, research-based approaches rather than generic worksheets.
Alongside my Lindamood-Bell background, I hold a minor in English with coursework spanning English, American, and world literature, and I passed the GRE Literature in English subject exam. I use that foundation to also tutor grammar, writing, and literature, helping students build clearer sentence structure, stronger essays, and sharper literary analysis.
I work extensively with elementary-age students (K-6) on foundational skills, but I also tutor older students and adults who want to become more confident readers and writers.
I'm also a published children's book author, so I understand firsthand what makes writing and storytelling actually work, not just what's technically correct. My approach is patient and individualized: I start by figuring out exactly where a student is getting stuck, then build a plan around their specific needs rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Whether your child is behind grade level, a strong student who wants to go further, or somewhere in between, my goal is measurable progress paired with real confidence and, ideally, a genuine love of reading and writing.

Approved Subjects

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, working with elementary-age kids on the skills that make everything else in school possible. I help students build strong foundations in reading, writing, and comprehension, meeting each child exactly where they are rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all approach. I know how discouraging it can be for a young learner to feel behind, and I focus on building both skill and confidence at the same time. My goal is to help your child not just catch up, but actually enjoy learning again.
Grammar

Grammar

I have a background in English and a lifelong love of language, grammar, and the mechanics of clear writing. I help students and adults untangle the rules that trip people up most, from comma placement to sentence structure to subject-verb agreement, in a way that actually makes sense rather than feeling like memorization. Whether you're prepping for a grammar-heavy exam, cleaning up a paper, or just want to feel more confident in your writing, I break things down clearly and patiently. My goal is for grammar to stop feeling like a minefield and start feeling like a tool you can use with confidence.
Literature

Literature

I hold a minor in English with deep coursework across English, American, and world literature, and I passed the GRE Literature in English subject exam, which covers works and literary history spanning centuries and continents. I help students build stronger close-reading skills, develop sharper literary analysis, and write essays that actually engage with a text rather than summarize it. I work with students preparing for exams, writing papers, or simply wanting to understand and enjoy what they're reading on a deeper level. My goal is to make literature feel less intimidating and more like a conversation you're equipped to join.
Proofreading

Proofreading

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, plus my own practice as a published children's book author. I bring a trained eye for grammar and structure along with a genuine feel for how good writing actually sounds. Whether it's a paper, resume, personal statement, or professional document, I focus on clarity and correctness while keeping your voice intact. I work with students and professionals who want their writing to read cleanly and confidently.
Reading

Reading

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, working with students who struggle with decoding, fluency, or comprehension. I identify exactly where a reader is getting stuck and use targeted, research-based strategies to close those gaps, rather than generic worksheets or guesswork. My approach works for kids who are behind grade level, strong readers looking to go deeper, and everyone in between. I'm passionate about helping every student become a confident, capable reader who actually enjoys books.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, working extensively with students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. I use structured, research-based approaches that break reading and language skills down into manageable steps, adjusting my pace and methods to fit how each individual student learns best. I know that a student who's struggled for a while often needs patience and a different approach as much as they need instruction. My goal is to help each student make real, measurable progress while rebuilding their confidence along the way.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, and I know that vocabulary is one of the biggest hidden factors behind reading comprehension and writing quality. I teach students how to actually learn words, using context clues, word roots, and patterns, rather than just memorizing lists for a test. This approach builds vocabulary that sticks and transfers into real reading, writing, and test performance. I work with students who want to communicate with more precision and confidence, whether for schoolwork, standardized tests, or everyday life.
Writing

Writing

I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, plus my own practice as a published children's book author. I help writers at every level develop clear structure, stronger sentences, and a confident voice, whether they're working on school essays, creative pieces, or personal projects. My background in literacy intervention means I'm especially attuned to what's getting in the way when writing feels hard, not just what's wrong on the page. I work with students and adults who want to become genuinely better, more confident writers, not just fix one assignment
