I'm a reading and literacy specialist with nearly a decade of experience at Lindamood-Bell, one of the most respected literacy intervention programs in the country, where I worked as a clinician, trainer, and center director.
I specialize in reading, working with students who struggle with decoding, fluency, or comprehension, as well as students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences, using structured, research-based approaches rather than generic worksheets.
Alongside my Lindamood-Bell background, I hold a minor in English with coursework spanning English, American, and world literature, and I passed the GRE Literature in English subject exam. I use that foundation to also tutor grammar, writing, and literature, helping students build clearer sentence structure, stronger essays, and sharper literary analysis.
I work extensively with elementary-age students (K-6) on foundational skills, but I also tutor older students and adults who want to become more confident readers and writers.
I'm also a published children's book author, so I understand firsthand what makes writing and storytelling actually work, not just what's technically correct. My approach is patient and individualized: I start by figuring out exactly where a student is getting stuck, then build a plan around their specific needs rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Whether your child is behind grade level, a strong student who wants to go further, or somewhere in between, my goal is measurable progress paired with real confidence and, ideally, a genuine love of reading and writing.
