20+ Years Experience and Masters in Elementary Education

I started working as a tutor while in high school. I worked with young drama students at school and I also was involved as a leader in the children's church service at the time. After high school I studied theatre at the University of Southern California and while in college I ran story arts programs at the local elementary schools. During the 1990s I worked as a substitute teacher and started working with a tutoring company. During this time I started my own after school story arts program, teaching students about film, theatre and game design. During the early 2000s I continued my story arts program and started working for a tutoring company. I also sold my story arts curriculum to the tutoring company.

I spent 2004 to 2007 working as a substitute teacher and earning my teaching credential and Masters in Education. After my Masters program I went to Korea to work as an English and drama teacher. I was over seas for nine years. Now that I've returned to the USA I'm looking forward to doing private tutoring and using the best practices to make learning more efficient, enjoyable and effective.

Math education was a key part of my Masters and certification training as well as a regular part of my substitute teaching work in schools. I also frequently use math and logic skills to develop my own computer games and websites.

English education was a key part of my Masters and certification training as well as a regular part of my substitute teaching work. I also have spent seven years working with ESL students in Los Angeles and seven years working in Korea teaching English. I also have spent much time on writing stories and blog posts.

My qualifications come from working in the public schools and doing after school programs. I have over twenty years of experience working in education as well as a Masters degree in Elementary education. Working specifically in the homeschooling industry will be new to me, but I know from meeting families involved in homeschooling, that it can be very effective
