I have a Bachelors in History with a minor in English and Family Life. I also have a Masters in Art Gallery and Museum Studies. I was a Teaching Assistant for 3 years in the History Department at a Research University. I was also a Research Assistant in the Special Collections Department. I have experience with improving my score on the ACT and using it to get into the University of my choice.

Hello, I have been a Certified Elementary Education Teacher since 2020. Professionally, I have worked in Grades 1-12 in some capacity. I worked in a lot of child related or adjacent fields for 10+ years before that. I am confident in my ability to teach K-12 English (Reading, Writing, Grammar, Phonics), Math, Science and History. For example, while teaching 5th grade, there was a 65% improvement on the state test between beginning and middle of year thanks to my efforts. I have also worked with specialized curriculum and received training in advanced methods, such as the Spalding Method (an Orton-Gillingham applied phonics program with tremendous success).

Recently, I have excelled in small group and one on one settings. I enjoy making difficult concepts easier to understand and I adapt to student and parent needs.

Outside of academics, I have been playing the piano for 33 years. I achieved multiple superior level ratings with the National Federation of Music and enjoy playing for fun.

I am constantly trying to improve my teaching methods, stay up to date on professional development, and keep structure easy for myself and the families I work with. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
