Dear students,
Thank you for considering me as your science tutor! In the last 5 year I have taught in a high school classroom setting with various types of learners including gifted students, students with ADHD, and even english-language-learning students. In those 5 years I have so joyfully taught various levels of biology including both honors and AP, I've prepped sessions after school to prepare students to take the ACT, and I've led other science teachers in biology curriculum and pacing development. I was named the Rookie Teacher of the Year for my high school, and most recently, I was honored to be chosen by Collegeboard to assist in grading free response questions for the 2026 AP Biology exam.
Aside from my teaching experience, I hold a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Biology from Grand Canyon University where I gained hands-on experience with laboratory gel electrophoresis, mark and recapture volunteer work with the Arizona Game & Fish Department, and laboratory polymerase chain reactions. Upon graduation with my Master's of Science in Biology, I was also chosen as the commencement speaker for my graduating class.
While my love for science grows more and more each day, my true passion lies within helping science students rise to their fullest potential. I credit much of my success to my own high school biology teacher, who set the bar high, yet encouraged, challenged, and believed in us each step of the way throughout her courses. My goal as your tutor remains to build confidence within your knowledge and skill sets, as so often our greatest limit is our own mind. You always know more than you think you do, and I am excited to guide you in enhancing your proficiency and overall competence in science!
