Specialized Tutoring for Students with Learning Differences – K–5

I am an Elementary Education major at Arizona Christian University with a concentration in Special Education, and I am passionate about helping students develop both academically and personally. Through my coursework and field experiences, I have gained hands-on experience working with young learners in classroom and one-on-one settings. I have completed classroom observations in first-grade classrooms, where I assisted with literacy instruction, math activities, and classroom management. These experiences have given me insight into how children learn differently and how to tailor instruction to meet their individual needs.

In addition to my classroom experience, I provide one-on-one adaptive swim instruction for children and teens, including those with diverse learning and sensory needs. In these sessions, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that prioritizes the individual readiness and confidence of each student. I utilize behavior-informed strategies, visual supports, and play-based methods to ensure students feel safe, motivated, and empowered to reach their goals. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with students, adapt my teaching strategies, and encourage progress in both academic and non-academic settings.

My tutoring approach is centered on building strong relationships with students while fostering a growth mindset. I focus on individualized instruction, setting achievable goals, and using methods that match each student’s learning style. I have experience tutoring elementary-aged students in reading, math, and general study skills, and I am committed to helping learners overcome challenges and achieve success. By combining patience, empathy, and structured guidance, I aim to create a positive, motivating environment where students can develop both confidence and academic skills.
