I bring a diverse and well-rounded teaching background in chemistry and related disciplines. My teaching career began in Cuba, where I spent a year instructing high school chemistry in both classroom and one-on-one settings. During this time, I specialized in preparing students for national and international competitions, including the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO). This work required advanced instruction across inorganic, analytical, physical, and organic chemistry, and it allowed me to cultivate both deep conceptual understanding and genuine enthusiasm for the subject in my students.
After moving to the United States, I continued expanding my teaching experience across a wide range of ages and academic needs. As a tutor with CogniTutor, I supported middle and high school students in math, science, and English, adapting my approach to meet each learner’s individual goals. My role as an after-school instructor with Mad Science in Arizona allowed me to introduce K–8 students to scientific concepts through engaging, hands-on activities, strengthening my ability to make complex ideas accessible and exciting.
I currently serve as a chemistry, mathematics, and physics tutor at Glendale Community College, where I help students build confidence and mastery in foundational and advanced chemical principles. Academically, I have completed honors coursework in Calculus I and III, Sustainable Cities, and General Chemistry, reflecting both my interdisciplinary interests and my strong mathematical foundation.
