Hello! My name is Mike, and I currently teach Math at a junior high in Mesa. I have worked with people of all ages and ability and I am confident that I can help you or your child reach their true potential. I have a bachelors degree in Special Education and Elementary Education, and I have worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. I have also tutored children with Aspergers and Autism. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I am qualified to tutor because I have a bachelors degree in special education from Arizona State University. I am certified in Arizona to teach special education 1st-12th grade. I have also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with Autism, Asperger's and ADHD. I also manage behavior on a daily basis in my classroom with students who have been diagnosed with ADHD.

Aspergers

I am qualified to work with students with Asperger's for three reasons; I have a degree in special education, I have worked as a behavioral therapist for kids with Asperger's and I currently work with 4 families of kids with Aspergers as an academic and adaptive skill tutor.

Autism

I am qualified to tutor special needs for these three reasons. I have a bachelors degree in special education from Arizona State University. I am certified in Arizona to teach special education 1st-12th grade. I have also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with Autism and Asperger's. During this time I was tutoring kids in their studies who had ASD.

Elementary Math

Received my degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. Passed all content tests for certification in Elementary education.

Football

I am currently a coach for football at the junior high level. I also work with some athletes privately on throwing and receiving skills.

Prealgebra

I am currently a Pre-Algebra Teacher at a school in the Mesa Unified School District. I also have a degree in special education and elementary education so I am certified in the content areas that form the foundation of what is expected in Pre-Algebra. I work well with motivating all types of children, especially those with learning impairments like ADD, ADHD, and ASD.

Special Needs
