Certified high school teacher in chemistry, physics, and English

I have a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and a master's degree in English. I am certified in Arizona to teach physics, chemistry, and English. I am currently in my twentieth year of teaching high school. I tutor students regularly as part of my teaching experience.
During my teaching career I have taught physical science, chemistry, physics, AP physics 1, AP physics 2, and AP Seminar. All my teaching experience is in a public school setting. I enjoy acting as a coach or a guide to students to help them use the abilities and knowledge they already know to make new connections to new learning. I generally have a variety of ways I can explain concepts to help students who may not understand one of the explanation methods. I find it helpful for students when I can look at problems that they attempt and help them to see where they are confused and where they have made errors. I provide frequent encouragement and help students increase their confidence in their own ability to learn and master the subjects I teach.
My nearly twenty years of teaching experience has been in public schools. I have taught high school students between ninth and twelfth grade. During this teaching experience, I have assisted students before and after school in a one-on-one setting as needed. I also provided one-on-one teaching during the school day as I am able.
