Sophia is an experienced public speaker and debater who has coached students into winning regional and national accolades. Her accomplishments include being a Congressional Debate State Champion and National Debate Semifinalist, Extemporaneous Speech State Champion, and a Top 20 Impromptu Speaker at the National Speech and Debate Tournament. A current English Major at Duke University, Sophia is also a trained writer, scoring 5s on both the AP Language and Literature exams, and with college admissions essays gaining her admission into a number of elite institutions, including Duke, Dartmouth, Rice, Swarthmore, Williams, Bowdoin, Washington & Lee, UVA, Vassar, GW, Oberlin, Grinnell, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, and more. Sophia also is a skilled and experienced test-taker, scoring in the 99th percentile on both the SAT and ACT, and being named a National Merit Scholar Finalist. In addition, she has passed 14 AP Exams, including AP Music Theory, AP US History, AP World History, AP Macroeconomics, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Environmental Science, AP Chemistry, AP Government, AP Psychology, and AP Spanish Language.
