Hi I’m Anaya! I am currently going into my third year at Northern Arizona University, where I am majoring in Dental Hygiene and minoring in Nutrition. During the couple years I have experienced college, I have recognized that the resources outside of lectures are what truly influenced my success. Utilizing these opportunities to receive different perspectives of the same subject really encouraged my critical thinking and imaginative problem solving skills. Providing an opportunity for students to discover their unique learning sense is what I plan to achieve. This can be through fun, creative games, student mock-lecture, or even a mix of scenarios, dependent on what each student feels accommodates them best.
Although I have no professional experience with tutoring, I have volunteered to assist fellow classmates and younger students understand the subject at hand. The group studies I’ve attended during my time here at NAU have really demonstrated my interest in helping others learn. I don’t want to just provide an answer, I want teach how and why, as it takes your learning much further. In addition, I have been a teacher assistant for 3 years (both high school and elementary settings) where I have been tasked to guide students with homework and review.
