I believe we are born enjoying learning and that sometimes educational institutions harm that natural joy. More learning occurs outside most classrooms whether through students sharing or applying lessons to life situations. Course work is a part of the human learning process.
I have an MA where we focused on methods and materials that help non-English speakers improve. I have taken and have taught classes on the writing process and firmly believe I can help anyone to write better. I have edited book length material that went on to be published. I have never stopped studying literature focusing on American and world lit. I understand and apply various method of vocabulary development since it is an essential part and language learning.
Education is a give and take activity. It grows out of mutual respect. I assume that students have things to teach me and I know I have things they can learn from my lessons. I look forward to learning my students stories and being able to share what I’ve learned.
