My journey into tutoring grew from years of translating complex technical work into language people can actually use. I hold a bachelor's degree with minors in mechanical engineering, computer science, and visual arts, followed by an MBA. This multidisciplinary training shaped how I approach problem-solving — whether analyzing semiconductor signal processing, working on bioinformatics research, contributing to aerospace systems, or supporting credit and marketing analytics and nation wide retail.

Across these industries, I collaborated with engineers, researchers, finance teams, and scientists. My function was often bridging gaps — helping business leaders grasp technical constraints and helping technical teams understand operational priorities. That same translation happens naturally in tutoring. I don't just walk students through formulas; I help them see why those formulas exist and where they connect to intuition. Beyond formal work, I've spent considerable time mentoring youth as a Cubmaster, volunteer leader, and children's grief group facilitator. Those experiences taught me patience, active listening, and how to adjust explanations based on when someone says "I get it" versus when they nod politely but remain confused.

As both a Scrum Master and project manager, I've operated successfully in tightly metrics-driven environments and in adaptive, learning-by-doing settings. I bring that flexibility to every session. Whether preparing for AP exams, tackling upper-level calculus or physics, building statistical literacy, or introducing programming fundamentals, my goal is consistent: help each student develop confidence not only in getting answers right but in asking better questions. Tutoring isn't about filling time with information — it's about creating moments of genuine understanding that stick.

I am a veteran systems architect who builds real-world data pipelines and analytics tools from scratch. On my GitHub (mfnbc), I showcase practical data applications including chess profile metrics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) text analysis. My background allows me to teach you exactly how to clean messy datasets, write structural queries, and build clean data models. Whether you are tackling college data fundamentals or building your portfolio, I will help you break down complex logic into clear, manageable steps.
Data Science

Data Science

My background combines a foundational Coursera credential in Data Science and Statistical Concepts with over a decade of real-world platform architecture experience. On my GitHub (mfnbc), I apply these principles to practical projects like Natural Language Processing (NLP) frameworks and statistical forecasting metrics. I specialize in teaching students how to bridge the gap between core statistical models and the engineering required to deploy them. I am here to help you master machine learning concepts, write clean algorithms, and build functional project portfolios.
Data Structures

Data Structures

My background spans the entire performance spectrum, from slow batch Big Data systems to instantaneous key-value stores and real-time signal processing. I specialize in the critical trade-offs of data normalization and denormalization, managing complex structures across relational SQL databases, NoSQL schemas, and Kimball dimensional modeling. On my GitHub (mfnbc), I demonstrate these core principles practically through custom SQL, graph and vector databases and functional programming data structures. I am here to help you master abstract data types, memory management, and performance optimization strategies, breaking down advanced data organization into clear, manageable steps.
General Computer

General Computer

I am a veteran solutions architect whose computing expertise spans the entire spectrum from physical hardware assembly to advanced software application layer design. My hands-on background ranges from building custom PCs and working with Linux since before its 1.0 release to programming microcontrollers like Arduino for embedded sensor and robotic control. I blend elite enterprise engineering with creative, accessible computing projects like developing custom Minecraft mods and building interactive games in Roblox. Whether you are looking to master low-level hardware components, configure operating systems, or learn coding fundamentals through gaming, I can break down any technical concept into a fun and rewarding learning experience.
