American History

American History

I have been an avid consumer of US history for as long as I can remember. In fifth grade, I did a mock-up diorama about the Incheon landing during the Korean War. I made a point of memorizing all of the US Presidents since 1900. I count "Six Frigates" (about the founding of the US Navy) and "Team of Rivals" (about President Lincoln's cabinet) as among my favorite books.
Elementary (K-6th)

I taught in South Korea for three years at a hagwon (private learning school) where we covered reading, writing, grammar, phonics and comprehension. I have experience teaching English as a second language to elementary school students, middle school students, and high school students. I did this in both classroom settings and one-on-one situations. I also engaged in language exchange with adults as well.
Government & Politics

Government & Politics

Government and politics has been a passion of mine for most of my life. I have volunteered for several political campaigns and causes. I have knocked on doors and made phone calls. I even ran for office myself! I do my best to be as informed about political history as well.
LSAT

LSAT

I started out with a 'cold' diagnostic of 151. After consistent study and practice, my highest practice test score ended up at 179 and my highest official score was 168. As a result, I received scholarship offers to numerous law schools and I am starting my 1L year in August. I want to help students recognize that the LSAT is straight-forward: the right answers are right, the wrong answers are wrong, and the reasons why can be understood.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

"Write things worth reading or do things worth writing." It's a quote to live by and one that has inspired me in my life. I am working on writing my own novel as well. I graduated with a minor in Language Arts and have helped South Korean students compose page-long reviews of chapter books.

Very patient and kind tutor

I recently had the pleasure of receiving assistance from Tom when I encountered technical difficulties. Despite the challenges, Tom was incredibly patient and understanding throughout our interaction. His willingness to assist me, despite the setbacks, was truly appreciated. Tom took the time to provide explanations, particularly in the field of economics, which I found helpful to some extent. However, there were a few minor inaccuracies in the information provided. Despite these small hiccups, I am grateful for Tom's positive attitude and dedication to helping me resolve my issue. It's worth mentioning that the final outcome didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of achieving the desired score. Nevertheless, I believe Tom's efforts should be acknowledged and appreciated. His patience, kindness, and willingness to assist are qualities that make him an asset to the support team.

He goes over and beyond to make sure you understand the work.

Tom makes sure you understand the concepts and works hard to make sure your assignment is done, and done right. He patiently helps, especially with ADHD students. My lessons are now done, and I would have to rate Tom as one of the best. What I really liked about him is that he always was available for questions even when we did not have a lesson scheduled. Excellent Tutor!
