Dr. Kelly is an amazing tutor!

I'm a sophomore at ASU who was struggling to pass any of my tests for Physics 111. I only had two sessions with Dr. Kelly and received an 100% on my recent test! I went from completely failing all of my tests to acing one in just two sessions. I liked the way he broke down a simple process to help me approach each problem the same way so I didn't feel the anxiety of approaching a new problem! Even though I had never previously taken physics courses, he was able to relate the problems to situations that made sense to me while also giving me easy tips and tricks to remember for the future. He was able to visually and conceptually explain problems and tailored his tutoring to the skill set that I had. I am very happy and would definitely recommend giving him a try!

Amazing tutor!

Hello, I am the kind of student who does not like to use tutors. I used to believe that they were a waste of time, and having to already endure the tasks put on me by school, I did not have time to teach someone else what to do so that they could help me. Dr. Kelly exponentially changed my way of thinking, not only about tutoring but also about my way of studying. I am a paramedic, and I have always been drawn to medicine. I am great at understanding clinical cases and medical scenarios, but I really struggle when it comes to topics in college, such as physics. I am not the strongest at math, and I struggle to integrate equations into a multiple-step problem. I took my first exam and completely failed it for Physics 202. That is when I initially came to Wyzant. I wanted to graduate and not have to repeat taking a class that had a lecture, a discussion, and a lab component to it. I initially found tutors who would not return messages and who would skip or miss appointments. Dr. Kelly was anything but this. He messaged me back within thirty minutes of reaching out, always showed up for every tutoring session, was fully committed through each one, and never had any communication issues. He was kind and understanding of my predicament. I explained to him that I was lost because I could follow medicine well, but I could not understand physics. Due to him practicing medicine, he was able to connect how I thought about medicine to physics. He not only helped me understand problems on the practice sheets, but also completely changed my way of thinking about how to break down an entire problem. When finals came around, I actually did not end up having much time to study for this class due to other classes needing more attention. However, I received the highest physics score I have ever received (an A) due to Dr. Kelly's ability to relate the triaging of medicine to the steps needed to solve a physics problem. Thank you, Dr. Kelly, for allowing me to become the first in my family to receive a baccalaureate degree. Furthermore, thank you for always pushing me to look at problems differently. I have been able to incorporate this skill into many other aspects of my life. Also, I will be forever grateful for your dedication to not only helping me pass physics, but also for teaching me skills needed to approach complicated problems and not give up when they seem impossible to solve.
