Hi, I’m Brendan! I’m currently a senior in the 4+1 Master’s program in Robotics & Autonomous Systems with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence at Arizona State University. I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout college, and I’m deeply passionate about programming. I have always found that I learn best when I’m having fun, provided with a lot of extra practice problems, and applying the content to real life projects. My goal is not just to help you excel in your classes but also to help you develop a genuine passion and deeper understanding of what you are learning.
I have over two years of experience tutoring both high school and college students, primarily in programming courses. I am experienced in web development, app development, data structures, and applied mathematics. I have also worked with students in introductory coding courses, object-oriented programming, and more advanced computer science topics, as well as math classes such as Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Calculus 1, and Calculus 2.
I like to academically engage students with practice problems similar to those shown in their coursework and also apply real-world examples to help students connect with content. I believe that students learn best when they understand how abstract concepts are useful in computer science. My specialty is my ability to break abstract concepts down into easily understandable pieces. I like to end the tutoring session with extra study materials that the student can work on independently. Through this approach, I’ve helped students strengthen their problem-solving skills, build confidence in their abilities, and significantly improve their performance in class.
