Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a current Economics student at Yale University, and I’ve been tutoring middle and high school students for over five years across a wide range of subjects. My tutoring experience includes independent one-on-one work, school-based peer tutoring, and teaching through a local tutoring company, which has allowed me to work with students of different ages, learning styles, and academic goals. I scored a 36 on the ACT and a 1560 on the SAT, and I earned 5s on numerous AP exams, including U.S. History, World History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, European History, U.S. Government & Politics, Comparative Government & Politics, Calculus BC, Statistics, Biology, Environmental Science, Spanish Language and Culture, English Language, and English Literature. I’m comfortable tutoring any of these subjects, and I especially enjoy working in economics, history, math, and language-based courses.
I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind the material rather than relying on memorization. I also try to adapt my explanations to match how each student learns best. I also place a strong emphasis on building study strategies, time-management skills, and academic confidence, so students leave sessions not only understanding the material better, but feeling more capable overall. I love teaching, and I’m deeply invested in helping students reach their goals. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about my experience / my tutoring methods and availability!
