Hi, my name is Spencer. I've had a strong aptitude for math from an early age, progressing through advanced placement, gifted, and honors math programs. I was consistently one to two years ahead in math and completed AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and dual-enrollment college coursework while in high school. Hi, my name is Spencer. I've had a strong aptitude for math from an early age, progressing through advanced placement, gifted, and honors math programs. I was consistently one to two years ahead in math and completed AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and dual-enrollment college coursework while in high school. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Entrepreneurship from Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, graduating 1.5 years early after entering college with over 45 earned credits. My academic background gives me a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and practical problem-solving.

Over the years, I've spent significant time tutoring friends, siblings, and family members ranging from middle school students to college students, as well as adult learners. I've worked with subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus, and test preparation. I've also helped adults pursuing professional programs, such as supporting a dental school student with required math coursework. These experiences have helped me learn how to adapt explanations to different learning styles, age groups, and academic goals.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on understanding how a student thinks before trying to correct mistakes. I like to start by having students attempt problems on their own so I can identify where their understanding is strong and where confusion begins, then walk through concepts step by step using analogies, visuals, and multiple explanations when needed. I focus on helping students understand why concepts work rather than memorizing steps, while also building confidence so they leave sessions feeling more capable, less anxious, and comfortable applying what they've learned. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

ACT Math

I help students prepare for the ACT Math section by strengthening core math concepts and improving test-taking strategy. I focus on algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and word problems that appear most frequently on the exam. My approach emphasizes recognizing question patterns and managing time efficiently. This helps students feel confident and prepared on test day.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I help students with Algebra 1 by focusing on core concepts such as variables, equations, and functions. My approach emphasizes understanding why concepts work rather than memorizing steps. Students typically leave sessions with increased clarity and confidence, feeling more comfortable applying what they've learned in class and on homework.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I help students with Algebra 2 by focusing on core concepts such as quadratic functions, polynomials and systems of equations. My approach emphasizes understanding why concepts work rather than memorizing steps. Students typically leave sessions with increased clarity and confidence, feeling more comfortable applying what they’ve learned in class and on homework.
GED

GED

I help students prepare for the GED by focusing on the core skills tested across all sections, including Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. My primary focus is building strong foundations in algebra, data analysis, reading comprehension, and analytical reasoning, which are essential throughout the test. I also work with students on pacing, problem-solving strategy, and reducing test anxiety under timed conditions. My goal is to help students feel confident, prepared, and fully equipped to pass the GED.
Geometry

Geometry

I help students with Geometry by focusing on core concepts such as angles, area and volume, and geometric relationships. My approach emphasizes understanding why concepts work rather than memorizing steps, which helps students make sense of proofs and multi-step problems. Students typically leave sessions with increased clarity and confidence, feeling more comfortable applying what they’ve learned in class and on homework.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I help students with Precalculus by focusing on core concepts such as functions, graphing and trigonometric relationships. My approach emphasizes understanding why concepts work rather than memorizing steps. Students typically leave sessions with increased clarity and confidence, feeling more comfortable applying what they’ve learned in class and on homework.
Probability

Probability

I help students with Probability by focusing on core concepts such as independent vs dependent events, probability rules, and interpreting probability in real-world contexts. My approach emphasizes understanding why concepts work rather than memorizing steps. Students typically leave sessions with increased clarity and confidence, feeling more comfortable applying what they’ve learned in class and on homework.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I help students with SAT Math by focusing on core skills such as pacing, word problems, and strategic problem-solving.
