Algebra-Focused Math Tutor and Database Specialist

I am a recent computer science graduate from South Carolina State University with a strong academic foundation in both mathematics and programming. Throughout my college career, I developed hands-on experience coding in C, Java, Python, and C++, as well as working extensively with databases using MySQL. have a strong interest in tutoring database concepts, as I enjoy helping students understand how data is structured, queried, and used within real-world applications. In addition to my technical background, I have always excelled in mathematics and consistently performed at a high level in every math course I have taken, as math has always come naturally to me. In particular I have passion for algebra, which has consistently been one of my strongest and favorite subjects. I enjoy the logical structure of algebra and how it builds the foundation for higher-level math and problem solving.

My tutoring experience focuses on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize steps. I enjoy working one-on-one with students of varying ages and skill levels, especially in math and introductory computer science. My approach is patient, supportive, and highly interactive. I break down material into clear, manageable pieces and explain concepts in multiple ways until they make sense. One of my favorite strategies is asking students to teach the problem back to me after we review it, as this builds confidence and reinforces understanding.

In addition to academics, I've played Division 1 soccer for all four years of college, which taught me discipline, time management, and perseverance. These qualities carry over directly into my tutoring style. I am a hardworking and dedicated tutor who genuinely enjoys the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel confident in their abilities and develop strong problem-solving skills they can use long-term.
