I am a certified math teacher with a Master’s degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University and over 13 years of classroom experience. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of math levels—from elementary foundational skills to high school Algebra 2. For the past six years, I’ve worked in the Chandler Unified School District, serving both junior high and high school students. I also hold a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a master's in Finance, which inform my ability to connect math instruction to real-world applications and career relevance.
My teaching approach emphasizes clarity, connection, and confidence. I believe students learn best when they feel seen and supported, so I take time to understand each learner's background, strengths, and challenges. I use a combination of questioning, guided practice, real-life examples, and visual aids to make abstract concepts more approachable. I have extensive experience working with students of varying ability levels, including those with ADHD, learning gaps, and math anxiety. I’ve also supported accelerated students preparing for placement exams, honors programs, and standardized tests.
In addition to my classroom work, I’ve tutored one-on-one and in small group settings both in-person and online. Whether a student needs to catch up, get ahead, or simply build confidence, I meet them where they are and help them move forward with clarity and purpose. With every student I work with, my goal is simple: to make sure they feel more confident about their own math ability and have fun at the same time.
