I have taught World History for over eight years in Northern Arizona. I attained my undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University, where I gained a lot of student teaching experience at the local schools. When I graduated I returned to my hometown of Tuba City, Arizona on the Navajo reservation. I am currently working on my Masters degree in History at Arizona State University. I am passionate about history and hope to further explore that interest in various ways. I enjoy talking about various historical and cultural facts, especially in a way that makes it relevant to current events and society.
A lot of the students I have worked with were Sophomores with a few Juniors and Seniors sprinkled in here and there. I also do have experience working with middle school students as an undergraduate student teacher. Most of the students I taught were Navajo and Hope, with many being English Language Learners. Our school had mandatory afterschool tutoring for student athletes, which allowed me to give more one-on-one tutoring sessions. However, most of my teaching experience pertains to a classroom setting.
