American History

I hold an MA in History and have extensive experience researching, teaching, and supporting students in American history. My graduate work included original historical research using both primary and secondary sources, and my master’s thesis received recognition from the Arkansas History Association. As an academic librarian, I regularly help students locate credible historical sources, evaluate evidence, develop research questions, and strengthen history papers and projects. I can help students understand major events and themes in American history while also building stronger skills in historical analysis, research, and evidence-based writing.

Anthropology

I hold an M.A. in History and have formal undergraduate coursework in anthropology as well as extensive interdisciplinary experience studying culture, migration, race, and historical communities. My academic work has included Native American culture and identity, African societies, immigration, and the ways cultural groups preserve and interpret their experiences. As an archivist, I also worked extensively with oral history and helped supervise a project documenting African immigrant experiences. Classics

I hold an M.A. in History and have academic experience studying the political thought, culture, and intellectual history of ancient Greece and Rome. My undergraduate work included research on Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, the Greek polis, Roman society, Pythagoreanism, and the role of mathematics in ancient Greek thought. I have also studied the development of democracy from classical Greece through the modern era. As a professional academic librarian and historian, I regularly help students locate scholarly sources, evaluate historical evidence, develop arguments, and improve research-based writing.

DOS

I have extensive hands-on experience with DOS, beginning with personal computers and continuing into my professional work as an archivist. In an archival setting, I regularly worked with a legacy DOS 3.1 computer and transferred files and data between that system and newer technology. I am comfortable with command-line navigation, file and directory management, copying and moving files, and other common DOS commands and operations. I can help students understand both the fundamentals of DOS and how to work confidently with legacy DOS systems.
