I am a licensed educator with more than 28 years of experience teaching and supporting students in grades K-8. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Educational Administration. Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, instructional facilitator, principal, district administrator, and online college instructor. I hold a Lifetime Arkansas Educator License and have taught a variety of subjects including language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

My greatest passion is helping students who struggle with reading. As a middle school Reading Interventionist, I worked with students experiencing reading difficulties, including those with characteristics of dyslexia. I developed individualized intervention plans, analyzed assessment data, monitored student progress, and provided targeted instruction based on each student's needs. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham based methods, Sonday System, Brainspring Phonics First/Structures, Bridge the Gap, and Rite Flight. My instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and focuses on building foundational literacy skills, fluency, comprehension, and confidence.

I have worked with students in traditional classrooms, small groups, one-on-one intervention settings, and online learning environments. In addition to my K-8 experience, I have taught college education courses in fully online and hybrid formats. I believe every student can learn when instruction is individualized, encouraging, and engaging. My goal is to help students build skills, gain confidence, and become successful independent learners.
