Hello, I'm Tammy and I'm excited about learning and helping students achieve their academic goals. I'm certified in history and ESL/ELL and I have ten years of experience teaching middle and high school. I tutor U.S. History, World History, Geography, and ESL/ELL. I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice, an M.B.A., and an M.Ed. in Middle Childhood Education.

I use a highly individualized approach with each student. I'm patient and work hard at encouraging my students. I enjoy working with small groups within the classroom, with whole group direct instruction, and with students in my morning study hall who need additional assistance with various concepts and assignments. I also have a year of after-school tutoring in which I worked with students to ensure they would be able to not only master the content but receive the necessary credits to continue to the next grade. I have a deep passion for history and hold approval for tutoring in various historical and social science subjects including American History, Geography, World History, and Social Studies.

My primary areas of expertise in ESL include pronunciation, grammar, and business English. I have an ESOL certification, and I have also gained valuable experience as an online ESL instructor, having worked with students from Japan, China, and South America. Witnessing my ESL students grasp new language concepts and apply them with confidence and accuracy is a source of immense excitement and fulfillment for me.
