Hey there! I’m Taylor, a Registered Nurse and BSN graduate from Louisiana Tech University with over three years of experience in med-surg nursing. Hey there! I’m Taylor, a Registered Nurse and BSN graduate from Louisiana Tech University with over three years of experience in med-surg nursing. My experience has given me a great knowledge base in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and general biology. I loved classes in school that were challenging but were taught in a way that really made me understand the material. That is the kind of student I am, and when I tutor, that is the kind of learning environment I want to foster in my students. A clear, positive, and engaging one.
My clinical experience allows me to interpret information from textbooks to how it is actually encountered in the hospital. My experiences help me make science feel relevant and practical to you. I have had the pleasure of precepting nursing students and guiding new graduates, and I have discovered that each student learns differently. I have tutored nursing majors, pre-nursing students, and adult learners both clinically and orally, fostering their interest in anatomy/physiology/biology. Everyone requires patience, flexibility, and understanding to succeed. When we work together, we begin by defining your needs, your learning style, and your current knowledge of a subject. From there, I will create a plan that is best for you. I will incorporate real-life context, visual aids, and review questions all around the core of the subject.
My passion is helping people learn nursing, anatomy, and basic biology. My goal is for you to understand the material and not just know it for a test. I know how difficult nursing is to learn and the complex content in biology. The learning process should be enjoyable, yet you should increase in confidence in the material. Let me know if you have questions or would like to schedule a time to meet!

HESI (Nursing exam)

HESI (Nursing exam)

As a registered nurse with a BSN; Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and biology are my strengths, and they also happen to be the core of the HESI exam. I have suggested Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and biology for hundreds of students who have gone on to nursing majors and followed them through the difficult coursework, and assisted with entrance exam preparation to achieve a strong grasp and record for high exam scores. What makes me qualified is that I am a clinical instructor and can make the content stick with real-life situations. I am also able to provide HESI content in a different and effective way because I am dealing with real life. I am able to make it both hands-on and relatable, and incorporate real-life situations/ medical situations. I work well with my students' learning types and provide them with a study plan and interactive ways to study, whether it is a visual or involves answering multiple questions or essays, in order to achieve a desired HESI score, without following a typical ask and answer instruction.

TEAS

TEAS

I have a BSN in Nursing from Louisiana Tech University and have been a Registered Nurse on a medical-surgical floor for the past three years. Preparing for the TEAS exam is the process that requires knowing the sciences that are listed on the exam, including anatomy, physiology, biology, microbiology, etc. I have tutored some pre-nursing students in the past. My students have all achieved the goal that they were striving for, based on their ability for the career and position that they were seeking. It requires not only the ability to teach them the correct answer but also experience with the questions that they will be similar to the test format. In addition, they need to learn strategies to overcome test anxiety. My clinical experience of teaching TEAS content prepares me to tutor students successfully for both content understanding and conceptual test-taking. I will meet with the individual to discuss how they learn, what they believe is their weakest subject, and in what ways they feel that they learn or have difficulty with others teaching or learning style. I will then provide visual aids, practice questions, and review to help them fill in their gaps of knowledge, without overwhelming them with too much content.
