I am a medical student with a degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Arkansas. Throughout both my undergraduate and medical education, I’ve developed a strong foundation in science, math, and test-taking strategies, and I’ve come to enjoy helping others grasp challenging material. As a teaching assistant for a Biomedical Modeling and Numerical Methods course, I led office hours, created rubrics, graded assignments, and helped students work through difficult mathematical models in biology and medicine. That experience shaped my passion for individualized instruction and gave me a deeper appreciation for how students learn differently depending on their background and confidence level.
Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked with high school and undergraduate students as a tutor and mentor in both formal and volunteer settings. I’ve helped students prepare for standardized exams, improve their grades in STEM coursework, and develop stronger study habits along the way. Whether I’m working with someone who wants to raise a B to an A or someone who feels completely overwhelmed, my goal is always to create a supportive, encouraging environment where we can break concepts down and rebuild understanding from the ground up. I believe that patience, active listening, and step-by-step reasoning are key to meaningful learning.
As a tutor, I emphasize not just getting the right answer, but understanding why that answer makes sense, whether it’s solving chemistry problems, analyzing biological systems, or learning how to manage time and stress during test prep. Above all, I want my students to walk away from our sessions feeling empowered, more confident, and equipped with tools they can carry into future classes. I’m flexible, approachable, and committed to helping learners reach their full potential.
