I am a medical student with a degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Arkansas. Throughout both my undergraduate and medical education, I’ve developed a strong foundation in science, math, and test-taking strategies, and I’ve come to enjoy helping others grasp challenging material. As a teaching assistant for a Biomedical Modeling and Numerical Methods course, I led office hours, created rubrics, graded assignments, and helped students work through difficult mathematical models in biology and medicine. That experience shaped my passion for individualized instruction and gave me a deeper appreciation for how students learn differently depending on their background and confidence level.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked with high school and undergraduate students as a tutor and mentor in both formal and volunteer settings. I’ve helped students prepare for standardized exams, improve their grades in STEM coursework, and develop stronger study habits along the way. Whether I’m working with someone who wants to raise a B to an A or someone who feels completely overwhelmed, my goal is always to create a supportive, encouraging environment where we can break concepts down and rebuild understanding from the ground up. I believe that patience, active listening, and step-by-step reasoning are key to meaningful learning.

As a tutor, I emphasize not just getting the right answer, but understanding why that answer makes sense, whether it’s solving chemistry problems, analyzing biological systems, or learning how to manage time and stress during test prep. Above all, I want my students to walk away from our sessions feeling empowered, more confident, and equipped with tools they can carry into future classes. I’m flexible, approachable, and committed to helping learners reach their full potential.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

As a medical student with a degree in biomedical engineering, I bring a strong analytical background and a deep understanding of applied mathematics to my tutoring. My engineering education involved extensive work in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis — all of which are essential to ACT Math. I scored a 35 on the ACT Math section and have experience helping students boost both their accuracy and speed through strategy-based practice. I focus on helping students recognize recurring question types, manage time efficiently, and build confidence with the math concepts most likely to appear on the test.
ACT Science

ACT Science

As a current medical student with a background in biomedical engineering, I have extensive experience interpreting scientific data, experimental setups, and graphical information which are all skills that are central to success on the ACT Science section. I scored a 36 on the ACT Science portion and understand how to approach passages strategically, even without prior content knowledge. My approach emphasizes identifying trends in data, understanding experiment design, and applying critical thinking under time pressure. I help students build confidence by teaching them how to break down complex visuals and stay focused on what each question is really asking.
Biology

Biology

As a medical student with a strong foundation in cellular and molecular biology, I bring both academic depth and real-world application to my tutoring. My undergraduate coursework in biomedical engineering included advanced biology topics such as physiology, genetics, and biochemistry, all of which I continue to apply in medical school. I focus on helping students understand not just what happens in biological systems, but why it happens, making complex topics more intuitive and memorable. My tutoring approach emphasizes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and simplifying dense material through diagrams, analogies, and active recall techniques.
Precalculus

Precalculus

With a background in biomedical engineering and experience excelling in advanced math, I specialize in making precalculus intuitive and manageable. I know how overwhelming functions, limits, and trig identities can feel, so I focus on building conceptual understanding while offering practical problem-solving strategies. My time studying engineering taught me how to approach complex math with clarity, and now I love helping others do the same. Whether you’re prepping for exams or just trying to keep up in class, I’ll help you feel more confident and capable.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

As a former biomedical engineering student and current medical student, I’ve tackled trigonometry from both academic and applied angles. I know how tricky radians, identities, and unit circles can be, but I also know how to make them click. I break concepts down clearly and provide strategies that make solving trig problems feel logical, not overwhelming. Whether you’re prepping for a test or strengthening your foundation, I’m here to help you succeed.
