I offer targeted support in Test Prep, College Admissions, Humanities & Social Sciences, and ELA/Writing. My instruction is student-centered and inquiry-based, focusing on Socratic questioning to guide students through critical analysis and develop a deeper appreciation for the material beyond memorization. I strive to build students’ confidence and curiosity, fostering intrinsic motivation and a lifelong love of learning. I work with high school and university students, as well as 8th-grade students preparing for specialty high school admissions tests, in 1:1 and small group online sessions, along with large workshop-style classes.

I began college at Hendrix College as a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major but discovered a passion for World Religions, which shifted my academic focus. Family circumstances led me to pause my studies and spend 17 years in the restaurant industry, where I honed valuable skills. I later returned to school at Madison Area Technical College to study psychology for future transfer to the University of Wisconsin. There, I gained experience teaching writing across disciplines and tutoring math up to Algebra in the college’s learning labs. After another pause due to COVID-19, I resumed my studies in 2024 to complete my degree in Psychology and Sociology.

As a neurodivergent person diagnosed in adulthood, I’ve experienced firsthand how traditional classrooms and standardized testing can feel overwhelming. Staying focused, organized, and motivated was often a struggle despite knowing the material. This perspective drives my commitment to creating a supportive, empowering environment for all students. I’m happy to answer any questions to ensure I’m a good fit for your needs. Let’s work together toward your goals! Send me a message or book an Instant Book time slot today to get started!

College Counseling

College Counseling

As an undergraduate I was an intern with the admissions office and regularly met with prospective students to discuss transition to college life and offer help on navigating the sometimes overwhelming process of applying to college. I currently assist students with evaluating college admissions standards to evaluate their realistic ability to meet requirements and draft actionable plans to draft an application that is effective for their chosen school. Also lead workshops on another tutor platform on navigating the process of admissions and staying on a timeline to apply effectively and on time.
Government & Politics

Government & Politics

Completed undergraduate coursework in International Relations with a focus on international systems primarily the International Court (ICJ). My undergraduate thesis was a study of the ICJ and their effectiveness as an institution when their power is derived primarily from nations accepting their authority or not on their own using Balkan Conflict, primarily the Bosnian Genocide as a primary example.
Psychology

Psychology

I am a junior level psychology student and have completed coursework in developmental, cognitive, and abnormal psychology as well as human sexuality. My interests are in cognitive psychology primarily learning and memory and I plan to attend graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. with the end goal of instruction and clinical practice. I have extensive expertise in research gathering and interpretation and composing literature reviews for analysis.
Religion

Religion

I completed required coursework in religious studies focusing on comparative religion and esoteric expression. As a former candidate for Catholic priesthood I also undertook extensive theological study and discussion from a Christian perspective. I have also been involved with mentoring, both as a mentor and mentee, in the area of religious deconstruction helping people wrestle with questions of faith and reconcile their conflicting mindsets as well as assisting them if they made the choice to work toward divesting from their faith community background.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I was one of the students that didn't have to study much through high school and was able to succeed despite that. So college was a shocking experience that forced me to play catch up and learn effective ways to structure study time and effective methods. Adding my focus in cognitive psychology and the ways our brains gather encode and retrieve information I have learned multiple skills to studying in the most effective way for long tern retention and retrieval of information.
Writing

Writing

I took a semester long training class to be a writing lab tutor at Madison Area Technical College. I have extensive experience helping students with their writing and developing their voice. As a psychology student I have written a plethora of research and literature reviews.
