Hello! My name is Matthew "Tyler" Isbell. I've been tutoring since I was a high school student myself--- and that keeps getting further and further in my rear view mirror. I have been a professional educator since 2012 and graduated with my master's degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University in 2017. While there, I also completed the credentials for an Online Teaching Certificate and a Technology Integration Specialist. I've specialized in private tutoring as a side gig for several years now, offering sessions via Skype, in person and using various Learning Management Systems. I love to see the aha moment achieved by students when they realize they can be successful at the numbers game!
During my day job, I teach AP Statistics and have experience teaching Algebra, College Algebra, Geometry, Trig, and Statistics. Basically, I've done it all at one of the "toughest" schools in my local area. One of the things that sets my math class a part is that I often post math concept videos on YouTube to help my students have something to reference after class is over and extend those same videos to my private tutoring students. I thrive on the challenge that teaching math to students--- especially students who doubt their abilities--- brings.
