I have worked in higher education since 2014 and bring a wide range of experience supporting students in both academic and administrative settings. My background includes roles in admissions, financial aid, and student success, as well as serving as a director and advisor for a TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program, where I worked closely with first-generation and underrepresented college students. In this role, I provided one-on-one academic advising, helped students develop study strategies, improve time management, and navigate the challenges of college life. I currently serve as an adjunct professor teaching personal finance, where I work with students in a classroom setting to build practical skills they can apply immediately.
My educational background includes a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in Religion. I also hold a graduate certificate in Management and Leadership and a certificate in Biblical Studies. In addition, I have published research in international academic journals and presented at both national and regional conferences. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of different learners.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and highly practical. I have worked with college students of varying ages and backgrounds, primarily in one-on-one and small group settings, helping them improve writing, organization, study habits, and overall academic performance. I focus on building confidence while giving students clear, actionable strategies they can use right away. Whether a student needs help understanding course material, improving their writing, or simply staying on track, I tailor each session to their goals and learning style to help them succeed both in the short term and long term.
