My name is Kristin! As early as I can recall I have been enamored with the English language! I naturally began writing as a child and by the time I was in High School was freelancing for companies such as DaySpring International. I received my Associate of Arts Degree in English from Lyon College, ran an editorial column in my college newspaper, all the while continuing to freelance in between studies.

Upon graduation I entered the corporate world as a Marketing Copywriter for various multi-national corporations. After a successful career as a writer I decided to step away from the workforce in order to start a family. At that time I decided to go back to college to complete my second degree (this time in Early Childhood Education) in the hopes of sharing my passion for English with other young minds! Though I did not immediately enter the teaching field, I have used the skills I've learned to teach my own child, who himself began reading by the age of three.
The ability to write effectively and powerfully is so very vital to life! Worlds can be spun, nations rise, and society shaped - all through the power of the written word!

My strength in teaching lies in sparking a love of language in my students and then patiently fostering the skills necessary to be a truly effective communicator. I meet my students where they are, spending as much time/focus as necessary on any given skill. Every student learns differently, therefore, every lesson must be individualized to reflect the needs of each student. I have worked with children from age 2 to 18, and am versatile and flexible. I welcome as many suggestions or resources students or parents can provide.
