I'm a substitute teacher in the Fayetteville School District. I love helping students learn how to learn. I enjoy watching a child's face light up when they first comprehend a thing. I often show my pupils how to master a subject so they can get a good grade on a test the next day. I especially enjoy showing youngsters how to speak clearly and appear confident when addressing an adult or talking to an entire class.

I've taken initial steps to obtain a Provisional Professional Teaching Certificate with the Arkansas Department of Education. The DOE can certify me (when I finish qualifying) in either English or Speech, plus a Journalism endorsement. This certification will be based on my experience as a teaching pastor (adults, youth, kids), as a writer-editor and radio news broadcaster, and as a newspaper columnist for the past 25 years.

I write for a hobby now since I am semi-retired. I write and edit articles and weekly columns. Like any good writer, I'm a prolific reader. I suppose because of this, my eyes can scan down a page in a book or a newspaper and catch a typo or a misspelling without any conscious effort. I've given hundreds of lectures of the kind that keep people attentive. I won the FL State Exchange Club Speech Contest as a High School Senior.

If you need help in an area where I have skills, I will bring my experience to bear and help you to improve. Our talent is a gift from God. But to give back by serving others? To make life better for the next generation? That takes effort and practice! It may even create into a career.
