Great to meet you! I’m an Arkansas certified teacher in Business Technology (250) and have my CTE (career) in Career Development. I have my undergraduate in marketing/business administration, two master’s degrees (one in Community and Economic Development and the other in Education), and I have about 3/4’s of my EdD in Educational administration complete. I am hoping to finish my doctoral degree in the next 10 years.
Before becoming a teacher in 2014, I was a marketing professional for very large non-profit organizations. I am federally trained in grants administration. I have owned and operated my own business since I was 18 years old that helped local small businesses have affordable marketing, graphic design, and online exposure.
I have taught in several different large school districts where I held positions such as Instructional Design Coordinator, Educational Technology, and Business Technology for schools in low socioeconomic areas.
I loved helping my students in “high risk” and very low income areas because a lot of these students needed someone to remind them of their potential and that their location was never going to limit them! I love to motivate my students through helpful and relatable instruction. I love to encourage my students to push themselves to do their best and to always let them know that if there is any additional help needed, I’m always open to helping them so they are not overwhelmed and successful with their pursuits.
I will always make sure my students have multiple forms of instruction if they feel they need alternate ways to master the topic to which we are working.
I also do a lot of cooking for my family and friends and have mastered a lot of techniques through pushing myself to always try something new. I love learning new things and will always love teaching what I have learned to others!
