I’m currently a student at Hendrix College, majoring in Physics on an engineering track, and I tutor math with a focus on building strong fundamentals and confident problem-solving skills. My college coursework is highly math-based, which gives me a solid background in the subjects I tutor and helps me explain not just what to do, but why the methods work. I can help with a wide range of math topics, from earlier foundational skills through high school and into college-level math support.
I’ve taught and supported students in several settings. I worked as an aide for an engineering summer camp, where I helped students understand the math and logic behind activities and guided them through challenges step by step. I’ve also done one-on-one tutoring in my free time, working mainly with high school and college students, and I’m comfortable tutoring younger students as well. Across these experiences, I’ve learned how to adjust my approach depending on a student’s pace and learning style, whether they need extra patience with basics or a deeper dive into more advanced material.
In my sessions, I emphasize clear explanations, lots of guided practice, and learning a consistent process for solving problems so students don’t feel stuck when the numbers change.
