I'm Michael, and I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University. I tutor Mathematics, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Electrochemistry. I also worked as an undergraduate teaching intern for organic chemistry, which trained me to explain difficult topics clearly and help students build confidence through practice and repetition.

In my lessons, I focus on making the material feel simpler and more predictable. I start by finding the exact step where things stop making sense, then I rebuild the idea in a clear, step-by-step way and immediately apply it to problems. I emphasize strategies you can reuse on exams, like setting up equations cleanly, tracking units, spotting common patterns, and checking your work so mistakes don't repeat. If you have a homework set, lecture notes, or a practice exam, we can work directly from that, and I can also create extra practice problems when you want more repetition.

I've worked with students who need foundational help as well as students aiming for top exam scores, and I adjust the pace to match your goals. My goal is that you leave each lesson knowing exactly what you learned, what to practice next, and how to improve before your next quiz or test. Feel free to message me with your course name and what chapter or topic you're on, and I'll tailor the first session right away.

If you're studying with a friend, a sibling, or a few classmates in the same course, I also teach small groups at a reduced rate per student, so each of you pays less than the one-on-one rate. Group lessons run on Zoom or Google Meet, since the Wyzant classroom is built for one student at a time, and every lesson is still scheduled and paid through Wyzant. Message me with your course and how many of you there are, and I'll send the group rate and tell you honestly whether a group or one-on-one will serve you better. I am based in Northwest Arkansas, so in-person lessons are an option locally, and I tutor online everywhere else.

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I have a strong background in chemistry, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and related areas of biology and physics. I earned my B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University and have experience helping students understand challenging concepts, solve practice problems, and prepare for exams. I have also worked as a teaching assistant and tutor, which has given me experience explaining complex material in a clear and approachable way. My goal is to help students build both confidence and a deeper understanding of the subject.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University and extensive hands-on laboratory experience. I also worked as an undergraduate teaching intern for organic chemistry at Indiana University, where I supported students in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry through guided problem solving, exam review, and lab instruction. I have experience tutoring high school and college students in General Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, and I focus on clear explanations, step-by-step strategies, and building strong fundamentals such as mole ratios, ICE tables, equilibrium, acids and bases, and thermodynamics. Each session is tailored to the student's course, curriculum, and goals, with targeted practice problems and review materials.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I have a B.S. in Chemistry with extensive hands-on laboratory experience and advanced coursework in Organic Chemistry. I’m a former undergraduate teaching assistant in the Indiana University Chemistry Department, where I helped students master reaction mechanisms, synthesis strategies, and exam preparation. I focus on breaking complex topics into clear, step-by-step patterns so students understand the “why” behind reactions rather than memorizing. I tailor each session to the student’s course and professor and provide targeted practice problems to build confidence and consistency.
Physics

Physics

I’ve completed College Physics I and II and earned an A in both. I’ve also taken Physics II Lab, Materials Science, and Physical Chemistry, so I’m comfortable with both the conceptual side and the math. I explain topics in a simple, step by step way and focus on problem solving strategies, unit checks, and building intuition so you can create your own examples and handle new problems confidently.
Regents

Regents

I hold a B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University and worked as an undergraduate teaching intern for organic chemistry. For Regents chemistry I cover the full core: atomic structure, bonding, the mole and stoichiometry, kinetics and equilibrium, acids and bases, redox and electrochemistry, organic basics, and nuclear chemistry. The reference tables are effectively half the exam and most lost points come from not knowing which table answers which question, so I drill that directly rather than treating it as an afterthought. I teach from released Regents exams so the practice matches the real format, and I work backward from the student's exam date.

Knowledgeable and Encouraging Tutor

Michael is currently teaching me Organic Chemistry for my MCAT. He is very knowledgeable and aware of common mistakes students make, due to his vast experience as a TA. He is also very patient and encouraging, regardless of the level you're starting at! I would definitely recommend Michael.
