I’m Danielle! I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Secondary and Middle Level Social Studies Education. I have been teaching for 16 years. I am passionate all things social studies. I love to share my knowledge and curiosity about how things are structured in our world and how it all connects together by looking at our past and present. I have always been a believer in individualized instruction and trying to match my instruction to the needs of my students. I specialize in personalized learning, tailoring lessons to each student’s needs and making complex topics relevant and engaging. My lessons will always begin with me learning about what knowledge my student currently has and then building off that knowledge. I will explicitly teach the material, but always do that in ways that allow for student input and engagement. Then I will create practice activities that will build the student’s knowledge and confidence in that skill and content. If needed I will work through any first practice with a student and then have another practice for the student as needed. All plans can be adjusted and tailored based on the subject and student’s needs.
I have been teaching for 16 years in a classroom setting. I also have 1 year experience teaching online. I teach classes between 15-30 students. I also do many small group lessons with between 3-10 students. Many of these students are either in need of advanced work to push them or need extra help on certain content or skills. Sometimes it is just to provide more focused attention when teaching a concept or skill. Whether a student needs help mastering content, improving critical thinking skills, or preparing for exams, I strive to create a supportive and effective learning experience.
