I have taught high school on-level and honors chemistry as well as AP Chemistry to high school juniors and seniors for over 20 years. I have also taught introductory college chemistry for two years. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education in chemistry in 1998 and my Masters in Educational Leadership in 2021, both degrees from Arkansas State University. I have also earned graduate credit in inorganic and physical chemistry from Ohio University. I am National Board certified and served as an AP Chemistry Exam Reader for six years. In addition to chemistry, I have also taught physics and physical science.

I possess a unique ability to make challenging topics comprehensible for high school chemistry and AP Chemistry students and college students taking general chemistry. My approach to teaching involves breaking down complex ideas into smaller and more manageable segments, utilizing relatable analogies, and employing real-world examples that resonate with students. This not only facilitates a deeper understanding but also fosters an environment where students can seamlessly apply theoretical knowledge to practical problem-solving scenarios. Through effective communication and a student-centric teaching style, I aim to instill a passion for chemistry and empower students with the skills to tackle challenging problems with confidence and enthusiasm. I strive to make sure that my students achieve high learning outcomes.
