My tutoring journey began when I helped a nursing student master algebra to pass her entrance exam. Since then, I’ve worked with a young student to reach grade-level proficiency in reading and writing, assisted a college student in General Chemistry I, and supported another in College Physics I. Additionally, during my senior college courses, I delivered multiple teaching presentations and lectures, further refining my communication and instructional skills. I also served as an assistant teacher at a daycare, working with children from infancy through sixth grade—an experience that taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and adaptability.
I believe I am an effective tutor because of my empathetic, patient, and flexible teaching style. I understand that every student has a unique way of learning, so I tailor my lessons to fit individual needs. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps and building understanding from there. I enjoy using fun mnemonic devices, relatable examples, and visual or auditory tools to make learning more engaging and memorable. I also emphasize application, ensuring that students not only understand the material but feel confident using it independently, whether solving equations, writing essays, or mastering science concepts.
